The mission of the Minister of Social Cohesion is to draft, drive, implement and assess the policies on territorial cohesion, territorial cooperation, regional development and enhancement of inland Portugal, with a view to reducing territorial inequalities and fostering a balanced territorial development, given the needs of the areas of the country with a low population density and cross-border territories.
